The beautiful weather is still with us and the last of the utilities gets connected. A rather large “joint bay” was needed on site which was dug by hand! So much ground had to be excavated – the house is a total of 80m away from the nearest main!

All went rather smoothly – the only hiccough being when it came to finding where the conduit had been left nearly 2 years ago as the string left out at the time had either been cut or buried when other works took place! It was eventually found after I trawled through some old photos of where we had left it but it didn’t quite meet up with their new trench, so some had to be chopped out – no big deal.

Being an ex-electrician myself, it was good to watch the guys at work, pulling a fair sized cable and making the connections.

All in all, a good few days work. Just need the meter fitted now…
